Moscow, April 03 (QNA) – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Ukrainian forces carried out four attacks on Russian energy infrastructure in Luhansk, Kursk, Belgorod, and Zaporizhia over the past 24 hours.
In a statement today, the ministry reported that a Ukrainian drone struck the Svatovo gas distribution station in Luhansk, operated by a subsidiary of Chernomorye Oil and Gas Company. The attack caused damage, ignited a fire, and disrupted gas supplies to more than 11,000 consumers.
In the Kursk region, a Ukrainian drone attack on the Kurskenergo power plant severed the 110-kilovolt (Klukva-Semskaya) high-voltage line, leaving over 1,200 households without power.
In Belgorod province, Ukrainian artillery shelled the Maksymovka 110-kilovolt substation, part of the Rosseti-Belgorodenergo Central branch, rendering a transformer inoperative.
Similarly, in Zaporizhia Oblast, a Ukrainian drone strike on the 35-kilovolt Vasilyevka power substation, owned by Teferyenergo, ignited a fire and cut off electricity to approximately 9,000 households in and around Vasilyevka.
Commenting on the attacks, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused Ukraine of seeking to disrupt ongoing dialogue between Moscow and Washington. She emphasized that Russia would not be provoked and placed full responsibility on Kyiv and its supporters. Zakharova further stated at a press conference that Kyiv’s targeting of Russian energy infrastructure was an attempt to derail peace efforts.
