English , International - بین الاقوامی , Snippets , / Tuesday, November 18th, 2025

Moscow, November 18 (QNA) – Donetsk President Denis Pushilin stated that a Ukrainian overnight attack damaged two thermal power plants, leaving many settlements without electricity.
According to Russia’s TASS agency, Pushilin stated that as a result of an unprecedented attack on the electricity grid, the Zuivska and Starobesheve thermal power plants were damaged. He added that power outages affected many populated areas, leading to the shutdown of boiler houses and water-filtration facilities linked to both plants.
Emergency crews were reportedly working to restore electricity and essential services.
The mutual attacks on energy infrastructure come in the context of the ongoing escalation between Russia and Ukraine since the outbreak of the war in February 2022, as electricity and heating facilities have become among the main targets of military operations.
