Geneva, July 11 (QNA) – The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) confirmed Friday that at least 798 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip while attempting to access humanitarian aid.
According to Spokesperson for the UN Human Rights Office Ravina Shamdasani, these casualties occurred near distribution points run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, backed by the United States and Israeli authorities, as well as near convoys operated by other relief organizations.
Specifically, 615 deaths were recorded around the foundation’s sites, and another 183 individuals were reportedly killed while heading toward aid convoys.
The Gaza Strip continues to face intense bombardment by Israeli forces targeting residential areas, medical facilities, and shelters for displaced civilians, amid an unfolding humanitarian catastrophe.
The crisis is further worsened by severe shortages of food, water, and medicine, prompting growing fears of a complete collapse of the healthcare and environmental systems.
