Geneva, November 28 (QNA) – The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNCHR) in Geneva condemned the killing of two Palestinians by Israeli occupation forces in Jenin, describing the incident as an “extrajudicial execution.”
In a statement Friday, UNCHR spokesperson Jeremy Laurence affirmed that the incident reflects an escalating pattern of violations with impunity.
He explained that 1,030 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since October 7, 2023.
He noted that the death toll continues to rise, whether at the hands of Israeli forces or settlers, without any real accountability.
For his part, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, called for independent, swift, and effective investigations, and for serious steps to be taken to end impunity, put an end to settler violence, and hold all those responsible for serious violations of international law accountable.
