New York, February 28 (QNA) – The United Nations (UN) Security Council will meet today in light of the current developments in the Middle East.
Diplomats at the UN said that the 15-member body will convene for an emergency meeting on Saturday, chaired by the United Kingdom, which holds the council’s monthly rotating presidency.
Russia’s mission to the organization stated that the emergency session comes at the request of Russia and China.
A diplomat at the UN also said that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres intends to speak at the session.
