MIRPUR ( AJK): April 3: New York-based Azad Jammu Kashmir’s Chhahoi town’s native spout Saghir Khan has won a major award, becoming the first Pakistani and Kashmiri to receive this prestigious award.
“The community service award center’s representative Jessica Ramos presented the award to Khan in a largely attended ceremony in New York, where hundreds of people from different countries were present”, our Special Jammu and Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur on Thursday that Khan, who has been living in the United States for several decades, has done great work to solve the problems facing the community, and this award is a recognition of his work.
The Pakistani and Kashmiri community in the United States has expressed extreme pleasure at this award, and people in his native region have also celebrated and congratulated him.
Saghir Khan, a resident of Charrhoi town of Kotli district of Mirpur division of Azad Jammu Kashmir, made the history emerging as the first Kashmir origin Pakistani national to receive the prestigious award in New York. This award is the largest service award in the United States, recognizing his outstanding community services, the message said while elaboratingthe significanceof the award.
Khan, holds the prestigious office of the president of the American Alliance, residing in the United States for several decades, working tirelessly to address community issues. His efforts have been acknowledged with this esteemed award, presented to him at a grand ceremony in New York, also attended by hundreds of individuals from various countries.
The US based Kashmiri and Pakistani Diaspora communities have expressed joy extending felicitations to Khan on this achievement, which has also been celebrated in his hometown of Charhoi since the very first sanctified day of Eid ul fiter with great jubilation.
