Senior officials from the United States, Türkiye, Egypt, and Qatar held high-level talks in Miami to review developments related to the Gaza situation and the implementation of the ongoing peace plan, Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry confirmed.
Türkiye was represented by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oncu Keceli, who shared details of the meeting on social media platform X. The discussions focused on the progress of the first phase of the Gaza peace plan and the prospects for transitioning into the second phase.
Keceli said participants assessed the current ceasefire, noting that it has largely held despite some violations. He added that the release of hostages has been completed and that active hostilities have significantly decreased, contributing to a relative calm on the ground.
Talks also addressed preparations for the second phase of the peace plan, with particular emphasis on ensuring that Gaza is governed by its own people. Officials exchanged views on the establishment of a Peace Council and the possible deployment of an International Stabilization Force, as outlined in the proposed framework.
The meeting highlighted continued diplomatic coordination among the four countries, which have been closely involved in mediation efforts related to Gaza.
Separately, Keceli said that on the sidelines of the Miami talks, Foreign Minister Fidan also held discussions with officials regarding ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, underscoring Türkiye’s broader engagement in international conflict resolution.
The Miami meeting reflects sustained regional and international efforts to advance stability in Gaza and move toward a longer-term political and security arrangement.
