BANGKOK, December 29. /Dunyo IA/.: Uzbekistan’s rich culinary heritage has been highlighted in Global Culinary Stories, a book authored by Kathleen Pokrud, Foreign Affairs Advisor of Elite+ magazine. The publication features contributions from ambassadors of 45 countries, including Uzbekistan, and emphasizes the universal role of food in transcending borders and fostering community.
Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs Maris Sangiampongsa praised the book in his message, stating that food acts as a universal language connecting diverse cultures. Adding to the collection, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn shared recipes for two royal Thai dishes.
Uzbekistan’s culinary traditions, represented by Consul General Fakhriddin Sultanov, span over three millennia. The Consul General introduced iconic dishes such as Uzbek plov and samsa, sharing authentic recipes that reflect the nation’s cultural essence.
At the book launch event, guests, including members of the diplomatic corps and public and private sectors, sampled Uzbek plov, samsa, and traditional sweets. These offerings served as a testament to Uzbekistan’s vibrant culinary traditions and its ability to build cultural bridges.
Uzbekistan’s inclusion in Global Culinary Stories not only celebrates its national dishes but also reinforces the importance of culinary arts in fostering mutual understanding and collaboration among nations.
