Uzbek Diplomacy’s Core Principles revived in new publication

TASHKENT, January 30. /Dunyo IA/.– The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) in Uzbekistan recently hosted the launch of the book “History of Uzbekistan’s Diplomacy (From Ancient Times to the Present)”. The event was attended by senior officials, diplomats, scholars, and media representatives.
First Deputy Chairperson of the Senate and UWED Rector, Sodyq Safoev, highlighted the importance of the publication, marking it as a milestone in the nation’s scientific and political landscape. The book, commissioned by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, offers a deep dive into the formation and development of Uzbek diplomacy, beginning from ancient times to the present day.
Safoev emphasized that Uzbekistan’s modern diplomacy, guided by President Mirziyoyev’s regional foreign policy doctrine, prioritizes cooperation with neighboring nations, including Afghanistan. This approach fosters mutual dialogue, compromise, and shared solutions to regional challenges.
The book also reflects on Uzbekistan’s rich diplomatic history, particularly the contributions of the Timurids and Baburids, known for advancing diplomatic relations. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhromjon Aloyev stressed that the nation’s diplomatic traditions trace back to ancient times, playing a crucial role in the region’s cultural, economic, and political development.
The publication, compiled by leading scholars, diplomats, and historians, integrates archival materials and historical documents that highlight key diplomatic milestones, emphasizing Uzbekistan’s growing international influence. The book also delves into Uzbekistan’s involvement in global forums, multilateral relations, and its focus on regional cooperation.
At the conclusion of the event, attendees called for continued research and future updates to the book, underscoring the importance of preserving and building upon the principles of Uzbek diplomacy in the modern era.
