TASHKENT, January 16. /Dunyo IA/. After almost five years, Uzbekistan and Slovakia resumed inter-ministerial political consultations, with the fifth round held in Tashkent on January 14. The Slovak delegation, headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Marek Eshtok, met with the Uzbek delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muzaffar Madrakhimov.
The consultations addressed key areas for deepening cooperation between the two nations, particularly in trade, economic investment, cultural, and humanitarian fields. Both sides also explored avenues for collaboration within international organizations, highlighting the importance of aligning strategies to tackle shared challenges.
The parties underscored the significance of strengthening the political dialogue, including engagements at the highest level, to further enhance bilateral relations. An exchange of views on pressing international and regional matters added depth to the discussions, emphasizing mutual interests and shared goals.
As a result of the talks, both countries agreed to work towards facilitating high-level visits and expanding the legal framework for their bilateral relations. Plans were also made to organize the next round of consultations in 2026, to be hosted in Bratislava, ensuring continued engagement and partnership.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Uzbekistan and Slovakia to fostering strong, multifaceted relations, paving the way for closer cooperation in the future.
