The newly-appointed Judge of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Mr. Justice Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry on Monday took oath of his office as permanent Judge of the apex court of AJK, it was officially stated.

Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan administered the oath to Mr. Justice Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry at a ceremony held at the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir building complex in the State metropolis, Our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports.

The oathtaking ceremony was attended among others by Senior Judge Supreme Court Justice Raza Ali Khan, Chief Justice High Court Justice Sardar Liaquat Hussain, Judge High Court Justice Khalid Rashid Chaudhry, Former Senior Judge Supreme Court Justice Khawaja Muhammad Naseem, Former Judge Supreme Court Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal, Former Chief Justice High Court Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja, Chairman Service Tribunal, Chairman Environmental Tribunal, Vice Chairman Bar Council Tariq Bashir, President Supreme Court Bar Association Raja Aftab Ahmed Khan, Secretary Supreme Court Bar Association, President High Court Bar Association Raja Waseem Younis, Secretary High Court Bar Association, President Central Bar Association Syed Anisul Hassan Gilani, office bearers and representatives of Bar Council and all Bar Associations of Azad Jammu Kashmir, Secretaries to the Government and lawyers from all over Azad Jammu and Kashmir participated in large numbers.

The oath-taking ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Secretary Law, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Government Irshad Ahmed Qureshi read out the notification about appointment of Mr Khalid Yusuf Chaudhry as Judge Supreme Court of Azad Jammu Kashmir. Justice Khalid Yusuf Chaudhry has previously been performing as Judge of the High Court and currently, before his appointment as judge of the apex court of AJK, he was serving as Custodian of Evacuee (Abandoned) Property.in Azad Jammu Kashmir.

The newly-appointed permanent judge of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu Kashmir Mr. Justice Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry has long distinguished career in the legal field as seasoned lawyer besides holding various key positions related to the legal profession spreading over three decades.

The seasoned jurist Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry, formerly Judge, High Court of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, was currently serving as Custodian Evacuce Property of Azad Jammu & Kashmir before his appointment as judge of the apex court of AJK

Mr. Khalid Yousaf Chaudhary born on 16 June 1969 in Mipur, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistan holding
nationality of Pakistan.

As legal practitioner, he served Custodian of Evacuee Property of Azad Jammu & Kashmir besides as Judge of tge High Court Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

He was appointed by the Govemment of Azad Jammu & Kashmir affer consultation with Chief Justice of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Chief Justice of High Court, Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
