Pakistan\u2019s 11-year-old squash sensation, Mahnoor Ali, advanced to the Under-13 final at the US Junior Squash Open in Philadelphia. She defeated China\u2019s Zinyuan Yin in a thrilling semi-final on Monday night, winning 11-7, 11-5, 5-11, 12-10.<\/p>\n
Ali, currently ranked Asia\u2019s No. 2, will face Egypt\u2019s Linda Elsayed in the final on Tuesday. Elsayed cruised past USA\u2019s Alice Huang in straight sets, 11-9, 11-7, 11-9.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on her performance, Ali acknowledged the tough competition, saying, \u201cI made some mistakes but will try to improve in the final.\u201d Earlier on Monday, she edged past USA\u2019s Kaylee Li in the quarterfinals, recovering from a first-set loss (9-11) to win 11-9, 11-9, 11-8.<\/p>\n
Remaining undefeated throughout the tournament, which features nearly 1,200 players from over 40 countries, Ali credited her success to the support of the BARD (Bilquis and Abdul Razzak Dawood) Foundation.<\/p>\n
