MIRPUR (AJK): Jan. 5 : The 92nd birth anniversary of PPP founder and former Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was celebrated on Sunday by the Party activists and other admirers across Azad Jammu Kashmir with full respect and honor, party’s sources said.

Our Special Jammu and Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur that special gatherings of the workers and supporters of AJK chapter of PPP were hosted at district and tehsil headquarters across Azad Jammu Kashmir to celebrate the birthday of ZAB but with full simplicity. In these meetings rich tributes were paid to Bhutto and his daughter and the party’s martyred chairperson Benazir Bhutto shaheed with the renewal of the pledge to continue the mission of shaheed ZAB and BB.

In Mirpur a special ceremony to observe the birthday of Shaheed ZAB was held here at the Kashmir Press Club hall where young PPP AJK leader and prospective candidate of the party from LA – 3 Mirpur city for 2026 – AJK Legislative Assembly elections Moeez Majeed Chaudhry, veteran seasoned UK based PPP leader Arshad Barki, Prof Afzal Mirza and others cut the Birth Day cake of ZAB to mark the birth day of the founder chairman of PPP and the former Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Paying rich tribute to the late Prime Minister of Pakistan and founder chief of PPP Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, speakers said on this occasion that “shaheed ZAB was the great leader of the Islamic world besides a philosopher who got freed 93 thousand POWs of Pakistan in 1971 besides to announce for fighting for one thousand years for the liberation of Kashmir.” Bhutto wanted to make the Islamic world stronger to stronger. To translate the idea, Bhutto hosted the first Islamic Conference in Lahore bringing the Muslim countries on the forum of the historic Islamic Summit”, they recalled.

They said that the birth anniversary of ZAB is celebrated every year on January 05, which also have the significance of being the Kashmiris right to self determination.

Addressing a ceremony to mark the birth anniversary of ZAB, speakers including PPP AJK leader Moeez Majeed Chaudhry, veteran seasoned UK based PPP leader Arshad Barki, Prof Afzal Mirza and other PPP leaders paid rich tributes to the departed leaders including shaheed ZAB and BB for their meritorious service for the nation and most particularly for giving the supreme sacrifice of their lives for maintaining the national unity, solidarity, and cohesion among the people of all the four provinces of the country as well as AJK.

Speakers termed the loss of lives of ZAB and BB an exceptional tremendous national loss of Pakistan.

Strongly denouncing the alleged judicial murder of ZAB and the brutal assassination of Benazir Bhutto shaheed the speakers further described the loss of the precious life of Bhuttos a great loss to the nation and the country including Jammu & Kashmir but also to entire world in general and the Muslim ummah in particular.

The participants declared that shaheed ZAB and BB were the precious national asset. They were the prime symbol of national unity and harmony of Pakistan. “The great leader shaheed BB laid down their lives for the sake of the nation and the country by strictly following the mission and high democratic traditions of her late father Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who, the ceremony declared, preferred to go to gallows instead of bowing before the dictatorial rule and the anti-democracy forces.

Speakers reposed full confidence in the party’s leadership under the dynamic leadership of Asif Ali Zardari, party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and vowed to continue the mission of shaheed ZAB and shaheed BB for turning Pakistan a true prosperous, developed and democratic state and for bringing the country at the path of democracy on permanent grounds.
