President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen its strategic partnership with China, describing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a prominent symbol of the two countries’ enduring friendship and All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
In a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping marking China’s National Day, President Zardari said the second phase of CPEC’s high-quality development offers new opportunities for cooperation in artificial intelligence, renewable energy, green mining and other areas of mutual benefit.
He praised China’s development over the past 77 years, noting its significant economic and social contributions to the Chinese people and the wider world. He highlighted China’s achievements in poverty reduction, inclusive growth and developing new quality productive forces.
President Zardari noted that Pakistan and China are commemorating 75 years of diplomatic relations this year, saying their enduring friendship has been strengthened by strategic mutual trust and consistent support on issues of core interest.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding practical cooperation with China and building a closer China-Pakistan Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.
He expressed confidence that bilateral friendship and cooperation would continue contributing to prosperity, regional peace, stability and greater international cooperation.
