KYIV, Sept. 21: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday that he and U.S. President Donald Trump have agreed to meet in New York.
Zelensky made the announcement after a telephone conversation with Trump, saying the planned meeting could help advance diplomatic efforts and described the situation as showing diplomatic momentum.
The Ukrainian president said discussions also covered the recent visit to Ukraine by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
He said advancing the peace process remains Kyiv’s main priority, with the leaders exchanging views on de-escalation measures and key security concerns.
Their discussion included energy and food security, as well as measures to protect human lives.
Zelensky said Ukraine is prepared to continue working with the U.S. team and take serious steps toward advancing the peace process.
