Feb. 05 KASHMIR SOLIDARITY DAY :

English , Kashmir - آزاد جموں کشمیر , / Friday, February 3rd, 2023

Hidden Message of Solidarity.

By: QuratulAin Shabir

Kashmir issue is as old as the history of Kashmir and people living across the Line of Control are facing brutalities of the occupying Indian Army every day. Uncertainty and insecurity is what they live with.

They sleep in their home without being assured of their life and safe home in the morning. It’s a land of Half Widows, what more the world needs to think about the seriousness of the Kashmir Issue. We need to douse the flames of our burning heaven through a strong political stance for the international world that should be more than just rallies and seminars. Solidarity day is to pay homage to the martyrs of Kashmir movement. It is to pay homage to all heroes whether it’s Hiba youngest pellet gun victim or our greatest freedom fighter Syed Ali Gillani (late) who struggled his lifetime for the right of self-determination that is a basic human right of every Kashmiri. Indian contemptuous attitude is flaming the heaven on earth and changing it into a biggest prison for the people of Kashmir. We living and breathing al fresco may not envision the brutality our Kashmiri brothers and sisters are facing every day.
Kashmir banay ga Pakistan, Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan, Pakistan sy rishta kya La ilaha IllAllah are some of the slogans we listen from our childhood and grow up. With every passing day it just became a routine that gave us happiness that we will have a day off from school or some of us get an opportunity to participate in functions that are mostly held in this regard. Spending Solidarity day like any other national day in a year is something that most of us are used to doing, when one day while travelling towards Neelum Valley at Azad Jammu and Kashmir side I saw this house on the other side of Kashmir that is under Indian control. When I look at the house I admire the color and scenic beauty of the waterfall behind that may have attracted so many tourists like me who visit Neelum Valley for its enchanting beauty and waterfalls. While crossing from that road again after a year I noticed something that makes me to think about the people living on the other side of Kashmir and write about it. I saw the colors of the house, the windows, Green color, white color, a crescent, a star. It was a flag of Pakistan, made with the green and white color on the window and walls of that house. That was a message for us, for Pakistan, for the people living here in Azad Kashmir from a common house lady who colored the walls of her house on a far flung area of Seemari Kapwara in IIOJK that what the value of Pakistani flag is in their heart. That is a real solidarity! That’s what we all need to show with them.
February 5th “Kashmir Solidarity Day” marked its importance on national and international level when every Pakistani show the bond they have with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir who burry their loved ones in the coffins covered with Pakistani flag. Despite of more than seven decades after Independence of Pakistan, this is a day that has always been celebrated with zeal and zealous. After August 5, 2019 we have observed a turning point on Kashmir Issue that makes people of Kashmir more vibrant in their freedom struggle who oppose all the laws imposed by India for snatching their land and basic human rights. Kashmir is a place where you observe serious Human Rights violation, but little they know about the inseparable relation of Pakistan and Kashmir who are facing maiming, killing and brutality of Indian forces bare-handed.
If a common man of IIOJK can show her/his love for Pakistan by making its flag on the window of his home, than we living here in independent State should have to move one step ahead to show solidarity with them. For making this green and white flag with a crescent and star you need to be brave enough, it’s the cause they are emotionally involved despite of all the hindrance they face daily. This year we need to make a vow with the common man of IIOK that we will continue our support with them, which will not revive only on National days. They will remain in our heart like they show their love and respect for Pakistan.
