MIRPUR (AJK), July 9 (APP): The Mirpur District Bar Association (DBA) has urged the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government and all relevant institutions to adopt dialogue and mutual understanding to resolve ongoing issues in the region, stressing that peaceful negotiations are the only way forward.
Addressing a press conference, DBA Acting President Advocate Shoukat Mughal and other office-bearers said lasting solutions to all disputes could only be achieved through meaningful talks. They emphasized that avoiding confrontation and promoting dialogue was essential for restoring peace and stability.
The lawyers appreciated the efforts of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for promoting peace and helping ease tensions between Iran and the United States. They said that if major international issues could be addressed through negotiations, similar efforts could also resolve local challenges.
The District Bar Association invited the leadership of the banned Action Committee to join the dialogue process, urging all stakeholders to participate in serious discussions in the larger interest of the public and regional harmony.
The lawyers demanded withdrawal of measures taken after May 30 and called for initiating talks from the same position to rebuild trust among all parties. They also demanded the release of detained individuals, including Advocate Taj Din, Advocate Imran B.Ed, and other citizens.
Expressing concern over the suspension of internet services, the DBA leaders said the disruption had negatively affected students, businesses, and daily activities. They called for the immediate restoration of internet facilities and the revival of banking services to ease difficulties faced by the public.
DBA President Advocate Shoukat Mughal and Secretary General Advocate Zahid Hussain said state and public matters could not be resolved through confrontation, but only through patience, tolerance, and constructive engagement.
They reaffirmed the legal community’s commitment to protecting the Constitution, rule of law, and public rights, while supporting all initiatives aimed at promoting peace, justice, and welfare in Azad Jammu and Kashmir
