MIRPUR (AJK): President of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AJKCCI), Umar Shehzad Jarral, paid tribute to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, describing their sacrifices as a symbol of courage, resilience, and the struggle for justice and rights.
Addressing a special prayer meeting in Mirpur, Jarral said the 22 Kashmiris who lost their lives outside Srinagar Central Jail on July 13, 1931, while protesting against the injustices of the Dogra regime, left behind a lasting legacy of bravery and commitment.
He said the sacrifices of the martyrs remain an important chapter in Kashmir’s history and continue to inspire future generations. The AJKCCI president noted that the events of July 13, 1931, contributed to political awareness and public consciousness among the people of Kashmir.
Jarral said Kashmir Martyrs’ Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made in pursuit of political, social, and religious rights. He emphasized the importance of a peaceful and just resolution of the Kashmir issue for lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
He called on the international community to support efforts for human rights and regional stability, while reiterating support for the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
He further stated that dialogue, understanding, and peaceful engagement remain essential for addressing regional challenges and promoting harmony among communities. He highlighted the importance of protecting human dignity and ensuring opportunities for future generations to live in an environment of peace and security.
The meeting concluded with special prayers for the martyrs, peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Kashmir.
