MIRPUR (AJK), July 28: A team of officials from the Information Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir visited Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur Station to review its performance, broadcasting operations and adoption of modern media practices.
The delegation was led by Deputy Director Information, Divisional Directorate of Public Relations Mirpur, Raja Sohail Khan, and Press Information Officer Khizar Hayat. Acting Station Director Khushbakht Shireen, Engineering Manager Ansar Mahmood and other staff members welcomed the visiting team.
During the visit, the delegation toured various sections of the station and was briefed about professional activities, broadcasting procedures and digital media initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Acting Station Director Khushbakht Shireen said Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur was committed to maintaining close coordination with the Information Department and fulfilling its professional responsibilities through accurate information dissemination and effective public communication.
She highlighted the station’s growing presence on social media platforms and said timely news coverage was provided during the recent Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections in Mirpur Division.
Raja Sohail Khan appreciated the station’s efforts in adopting modern communication methods and stressed the importance of verified information to counter fake news. He said both institutions shared the common goal of providing accurate, authentic and timely information to the public.
He added that stronger cooperation between the Information Department and Azad Kashmir Radio stations would further improve coverage of government initiatives through traditional and digital media platforms.
