AJK Police Chief Ensures Peaceful Elections Urges Voters Participation

MIRPUR (AJK), July 27: Inspector General of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police Captain (Retd) Liaquat Ali Malik said all available resources were being utilized to maintain peace and order for free, fair and transparent conduct of the AJK Legislative Assembly Elections 2026.
During a visit to various polling stations in Mirpur Division to review security arrangements and the overall polling situation, the AJK Police chief urged people to exercise their democratic right to vote without fear and actively participate in the electoral process.
He assessed the law and order arrangements at polling stations during the first phase of the AJK Assembly elections and was accompanied by Additional Inspector General of Police Muhammad Yasin Qureshi, DIG Mirpur Division Kamran Ali and SSP Mirpur Khurram Iqbal.
Captain (Retd) Liaquat Ali Malik said the overall security situation in Mirpur Division remained satisfactory, with polling continuing peacefully without major interruptions.
He appreciated the efforts of police personnel deployed for election duties and said they were performing their responsibilities with full commitment.
The AJK Police chief added that 22,000 security personnel had been deployed across Mirpur Division to ensure peaceful elections, while quick response measures were in place to address any situation and maintain public order.
