MIRPUR (AJK), Aug. 17: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore honoured senior officers and officials of the AJK Inland Revenue Department with awards in recognition of their outstanding professional performance, record revenue collection, institutional reforms and digital transformation during the financial year 2025-26.
The awards ceremony was held at the Prime Minister House on Pakistan Independence Day, where officers received Certificates of Appreciation, Cash Awards and Professional Excellence Awards for their contributions to strengthening revenue administration in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Among those honoured was Syed Anser Ali, Commissioner Inland Revenue, South Zone, whose leadership and professional contribution towards achieving revenue targets and improving departmental efficiency, particularly through digital initiatives such as the AJK Point of Sale (POS) System, were appreciated.
Other senior officers, including Basil Siddique, Commissioner Inland Revenue, North Zone, Dr. Shazia Habib, Secretary CBR, Circle Incharge Officers and other departmental officials, were also recognized for their services and contributions to revenue performance.
An IRD AJK spokesperson said the recognition was primarily linked to the record revenue collection achieved during FY 2025-26 despite challenging circumstances. The department achieved its revenue objectives through sustained efforts, effective field operations, improved monitoring and coordinated work by officers and officials at different levels.
The Prime Minister appreciated the collective efforts of the department and acknowledged the professional commitment, dedication and leadership demonstrated by its officers and staff.
The spokesperson said particular appreciation was expressed for digitalization and reform initiatives aimed at improving transparency, efficiency and taxpayer facilitation. Progress in POS systems, digital reforms and resolving cash withdrawal and cash-related issues were highlighted as important steps towards modernizing tax administration.
The recognition reflected the government’s appreciation not only for revenue collection but also for institutional development, digital transformation, administrative reforms and professional excellence.
Commissioners Inland Revenue expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore for recognizing their services, saying the appreciation would encourage officers and officials to perform their responsibilities with greater dedication and professionalism.
The recognition assumes significance amid fiscal pressures and challenging circumstances during FY 2025-26. The department’s revenue performance, alongside progress in digitalization and administrative reforms, was described as an important milestone.
The awards are expected to boost staff morale and encourage continued efforts towards higher revenue mobilization, improved taxpayer facilitation, transparency, digital transformation and effective tax administration.
