MIRPUR (AJK), May 29: Former member of Pakistan’s National Commission for Minorities, Albert David, has extended heartfelt Eid ul Adha greetings to the Muslim Ummah and the people of Pakistan, describing the religious festival as a symbol of sacrifice, unity and collective welfare.
In a message released to the media on Thursday, the veteran Christian community leader said Eid ul Adha teaches the values of faith, devotion and selflessness, urging the nation to promote harmony and solidarity for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
“Eid ul Adha is a festival that embodies the true spirit of sacrifice and reminds us to place unity and national interest above personal gains,” Albert David stated.
Paying tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs, he said the nation must remember the sacrifices of the armed forces and the families of martyrs who rendered invaluable services for safeguarding the country’s geographical and ideological frontiers.
“The sacrifices of our martyrs are the foundation of Pakistan’s strength and stability. It is our collective responsibility to remain united for the defense and development of the homeland,” he added.
Albert David also appreciated Pakistan’s civil and military leadership for promoting peace and stability in the region. Referring to diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran, he said Pakistan’s mediation reflected the country’s growing credibility as a peace-promoting nation.
He expressed hope for the successful conclusion of the proposed Islamabad Accord, saying it would further strengthen Pakistan’s image as a responsible and peace-loving country globally.
Concluding his message, Albert David urged the nation to renew its commitment on Eid ul Adha for unity, national defense, prosperity and peace, adding that collective efforts and mutual respect were essential for a stronger and stable Pakistan.
