MIRPUR ( AJK); Brussels, May 11 — The Brussels-based Kashmir Council Europe said the success of “Marka-e-Haq” or “Battle of Truth (Bunyan-un-Marsoos)” has strengthened the morale of the Kashmiri people and once again brought the Kashmir issue into international focus.
Addressing a ceremony held at the Council’s Central Secretariat in Brussels to mark the first anniversary of the operation’s success, Chairman Ali Raza Syed said Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos symbolized the strong response and historic success of Pakistan’s armed forces against Indian aggression.
He stated that the operation reflected Pakistan’s defense capabilities, national security preparedness, and the professional excellence of its armed forces, adding that the achievement had been written in “golden words” in the country’s history.
Ali Raza Syed emphasized that Pakistan remains a strong advocate for the Kashmiri people and urged Islamabad to play a more active diplomatic role at the international level for the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Other speakers paid tribute to the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan on the anniversary of the operation and also honored the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom and justice. They called on the international community to support efforts for resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute.
The event was attended by political and social figures, diplomats, media representatives, and members of civil society, including representatives from the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora in Europe.
Speakers also highlighted concerns over the human rights situation in Indian-administered Kashmir following the revocation of the region’s special constitutional status by India on August 5, 2019.
