According to the Anadolu Agency, the commander of US Central Command has briefed former President Donald Trump on a range of military options targeting Iran, including the possibility of a decisive final round of strikes. The briefing reportedly took place in the White House Situation Room, where Admiral Brad Cooper outlined plans for a short but intense wave of coordinated attacks.
The potential targets are said to include Iran’s remaining military assets, key infrastructure, and senior leadership. The Pentagon is also reviewing the possible deployment of advanced weapons systems, including a hypersonic missile known as “Dark Eagle,” capable of striking long-range targets with high precision.
Meanwhile, B-1B Lancer bombers have increased their presence in the region, with the capacity to carry heavy payloads, potentially enhancing operational capability if hostilities resume.
The developments follow earlier tensions that began on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, prompting retaliatory actions by Tehran against US allies in the Gulf and impacting traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
A ceasefire was announced on April 8 through Pakistan’s mediation and followed by talks in Islamabad; however, negotiations failed to produce a lasting agreement. The truce was later extended without a specified timeframe.
