BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Beijing on Tuesday, reaffirming the strong ties and long-term strategic partnership between China and Tajikistan.
During the meeting, Xi said both countries would remain close neighbors, trusted friends, and reliable development partners regardless of global challenges or changes in the international environment. He emphasized that the signing of the China-Tajikistan treaty on permanent good-neighborliness and friendly cooperation reflects deep political trust and guarantees lasting friendship between the two nations.
Xi called for expanding high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative by aligning development strategies and promoting joint economic growth. He urged both sides to strengthen trade and investment while ensuring the smooth implementation of major projects.
The Chinese president also highlighted cooperation in green energy, digital economy, artificial intelligence, smart cities, and scientific innovation. He further stressed the importance of stronger coordination in law enforcement and security, including joint efforts against terrorism, extremism, and separatism to safeguard regional stability.
Xi also welcomed Tajikistan’s participation in international mediation initiatives and broader cooperation within regional and global organizations.
