Beijing, March 26 (QNA) – China has urged the US not to impose a hegemonic logic or view Sino-US relations from a Cold War perspective, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said Wednesday.
Addressing a presser in response to a US report claiming that China poses the greatest military and cyber threat to the US, Guo said the US side issues these biased reports year after year, propagating the China threat narrative and inciting competition among major powers as a mere pretext to contain and suppress China and maintain its hegemony.
“China’s development is based on a clear logic of history and a strong internal driving force.
Our goals, pursued in an open and honest manner, are simply to allow the Chinese people to live better lives and to make greater contributions to the world. We have no intention of surpassing or replacing any country,” Xinhua quoted Guo as saying.
