Multan: A significant engagement session was organized by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan to promote research, business collaboration, and modern technology between Pakistan and China in the fields of agricultural technology, poultry, and livestock in South Punjab.
The program, titled “South Punjab Agri-Tech & Poultry Innovation Forum,” was held under the central theme “Bridging Research and Enterprise: China-Pakistan Cooperation in Modern Agriculture, Poultry & Livestock.”
The primary objective of the forum was to connect Chinese companies and business organizations working in agricultural technology, poultry, and livestock with entrepreneurs, investors, and industrialists associated with these sectors in South Punjab through the university’s platform. The initiative aimed to promote mutual cooperation, technology transfer, investment, research and development, and new business opportunities.
The event was hosted by Rana Iqbal Siraj, Chief Executive Officer, RIC Nexus Pvt. Ltd., Multan, who emphasized the importance of strengthening Pakistan-China business relations and connecting South Punjab’s agriculture, poultry, and livestock sectors with modern technology and international markets. He said that such platforms can play an important role in bridging the gap between the business community, academia, research, and industry while creating new avenues for practical partnerships.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan, Professor Dr. Asif Ali, said that the university would provide all possible technical support to connect businesses and organizations through research, innovation, and intellectual capacity. He said that the university would serve as an effective platform for linking Research, Innovation, and Intellect with the needs of industry and the business community.
Professor Dr. Asif Ali further stated that the university’s role is not limited to academic activities; rather, its objective is to translate research outcomes into practical applications, provide scientific solutions to industry-related challenges, and facilitate businesses in benefiting from modern technologies.
He added that Pakistan-China cooperation could open new avenues in South Punjab’s agricultural sector, particularly in modern agricultural technologies, smart farming, poultry management, livestock development, greenhouse technology, and other emerging areas.
During the forum, Chinese agricultural company representatives Yichi, Wang, Zhao Wei, Lambert, and Zhang Wei, along with Pakistani business and technical representatives, held detailed discussions on opportunities for mutual cooperation, modern agricultural technologies, poultry and livestock production, research and development, business linkages, and technology transfer.
The participants agreed that stronger collaboration among universities, industry, and the business community can play a vital role in modernizing the agricultural sector of South Punjab, creating new employment opportunities, and further strengthening economic and technological cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan will continue to play its role in promoting the development of agriculture, poultry, and livestock sectors in South Punjab through collaboration in research, innovation, and industry partnerships, while also facilitating stronger business and technological cooperation between Pakistan and China.
On the occasion, Senator Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan, Vice Chancellor Cholistan University Professor Dr. Tariq, university faculty members, representatives of industry, and a large number of farmers and stakeholders were also present.
