A drone strike caused a fire near the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region of the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, according to Abu Dhabi authorities.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office said the fire broke out in an electrical generator located outside the nuclear plant’s inner perimeter. Emergency teams quickly responded, and all precautionary safety measures were implemented at the site.
Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported and there was no impact on radiological safety levels. The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation stated that the incident did not affect the operational safety of the plant or the readiness of its essential systems.
Authorities added that the situation is fully under control, while monitoring continues in coordination with relevant agencies to ensure safety and stability at the facility.
