DOHA: July 26, 2026: The Embassy of Japan in Qatar is delighted to announce the return of the Qatar-Japan Illustration Contest for its second consecutive year, following the overwhelming success of its inaugural edition.
Organized in collaboration with leading local cultural partners Geekdom and Nakama, the contest celebrates the vibrant fusion of Japanese art and culture within the Qatari community.
Officially launched on July 19, 2026, this year’s contest invites artists to create original works under the theme “Crossroads of Legends: My Original Japan-Qatar Hero/Heroine”.
The competition, designed to deepen cross-cultural exchange, provides a platform for Qatari citizens and residents to showcase their creativity and passion for Japanese art across three distinct categories, including a dedicated category for children.
Artists of all skill levels are encouraged to apply before August 27, 2026.
The winners will be selected by a distinguished panel of guest judges, and will receive amazing prizes sponsored by Teyseer Motors – Suzuki, Fnac Qatar, Daiso Japan, and Iwatani Corporation.
