ISTANBUL — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong with an official ceremony at the Presidential Dolmabahce Office on Friday, marking the start of high-level talks between the two countries.
Prime Minister Wong arrived in Istanbul as part of his official visit to Türkiye, where he was welcomed with formal protocol before the two leaders proceeded to bilateral discussions.
Following the welcoming ceremony, Erdogan and Wong held both bilateral and delegation-level meetings focused on strengthening cooperation and expanding ties between Türkiye and Singapore across multiple sectors.
The Turkish delegation included Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, Chief Adviser to the President on Security and Foreign Policy Akif Cagatay Kilic, and Bilal Erdogan, head of the board of trustees of the Ilim Yayma Foundation.
Officials from both sides attended the talks, as the two leaders reviewed regional and international developments and discussed opportunities to enhance diplomatic, economic and strategic engagement between Ankara and Singapore.
