MIRPUR (AJK): August 6: Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Chaudhry Sajid Aslam and SSP Mirpur Khurram Iqbal jointly chaired an extraordinary meeting on Thursday to review preparations for the scheduled August 14 Independence Day of Pakistan celebrations, law and order arrangements, and overall administrative planning in the district.
The meeting was attended by district heads of various nation-building departments. Participants discussed a comprehensive strategy to ensure that the August 14 “Jashan-e-Azadi Pakistan” celebrations were organized in a befitting manner, promoting national unity, public convenience, and timely completion of all necessary arrangements.
The meeting decided that all departments would discharge their responsibilities with coordination, national commitment, and professionalism.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Sajid Aslam said that public office was a trust that must be exercised with honesty, transparency, and in the larger public interest. He emphasized that facilitating the public and serving the people remain the foremost responsibilities of government officials, adding that negligence in addressing citizens’ issues would not be tolerated.
He stated that effective governance could only be ensured through close coordination, timely decision-making, and efficient communication among all departments.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Mirpur Khurram Iqbal said that Pakistan Independence Day symbolizes national unity, discipline, and patriotism. He stressed that all departments should work as one team to maintain peace and stability.
He added that maintaining law and order, safeguarding citizens’ lives, property and rights, and ensuring uninterrupted public services would remain the police’s top priorities.
