JOHANNESBURG, Nov. 15 — South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has confirmed that the upcoming G20 Leaders’ Summit will continue as scheduled, despite the United States’ decision to withdraw from the meeting.

Speaking in Kliptown, Johannesburg, on Friday, Ramaphosa emphasized South Africa’s readiness to host global leaders and ensure a successful summit. “The summit will go on. We are not going to stop because they are not here,” he said, noting that most G20 leaders have already confirmed their attendance.

The South African president addressed the U.S. withdrawal, which was reportedly due to concerns over the treatment of Afrikaners and allegations of “genocide.” Ramaphosa dismissed boycott attempts, stating, “Boycott politics never work. If you boycott an event or a process, you lose because the show will go on.”

The G20 Leaders’ Summit is scheduled for November 22–23 in Johannesburg, the country’s largest city and economic hub. The meeting aims to bring together the world’s leading economies to discuss global financial stability, trade, and sustainable development initiatives. South Africa remains committed to facilitating constructive dialogue and collaboration among member nations, underscoring its role as a key player on the international stage.
