An integrated phased plan has been initiated by the District Council Mirpur to develop modern sports grounds across rural areas of Mirpur, aiming to bring facilities at par with urban centers and promote youth engagement in healthy sporting activities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. According to District Council Chairman Raja Naveed Akhtar Goga, the under-construction Chitterparri Sports Ground on the outskirts of Mirpur will be completed within days and opened for public use. He added that walking tracks and allied facilities will be developed to host regional and national level events, ensuring better recreational opportunities for youth.
Local administration officials accompanied the inspection visit, while special emphasis was placed on community cooperation to maintain and improve sports infrastructure across the district. The District Council Chairman stated that promoting healthy activities remains a core mission of the institution, with focus on ensuring children and youth have access to modern sports facilities close to their doorstep.
