Tehran, May 08 – Tensions between the United States and Iran intensified once again after fresh military strikes despite continuing diplomatic efforts between the two sides. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi strongly criticized Washington accusing it of choosing military confrontation whenever negotiations appear possible.
In a statement posted on X the Iranian minister said the United States repeatedly turns to what he described as “reckless military adventures” instead of supporting diplomatic solutions. He stressed that Iran would not surrender under pressure and declared that the Iranian people remained firm in the face of external threats.
Araghchi also rejected recent reports concerning Iran’s missile capabilities and dismissed alleged US intelligence assessments. Referring to the period following the conflict launched by the United States and Israel he claimed Iran’s missile inventory and launcher capacity had increased rather than weakened.
The foreign minister further emphasized Iran’s military preparedness saying the country was fully ready to defend its people and national interests against any aggression.
The latest exchange of accusations comes amid growing regional tensions and continued international concerns over security stability and the future of diplomatic engagement between Iran and the United States.
