Oman: The latest round of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States concluded on Friday in Oman, according to Iranian state media, with both delegations returning to their respective capitals for further consultations.
A reporter from Iran’s state broadcaster, who accompanied the Iranian delegation, said the discussions ended “for now” after several hours of talks. The state-run IRNA news agency also confirmed the conclusion of the session, noting that there is an understanding between the two sides to continue negotiations in the coming days.
The talks, which began earlier Friday, were conducted indirectly through Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi. During the session, Iranian and US representatives exchanged their respective views, concerns, and approaches via Omani mediation.
The renewed diplomatic engagement follows weeks of heightened tensions, partly fueled by US President Donald Trump’s warning of possible military action against Tehran. Despite the strained atmosphere, both sides have resumed indirect diplomacy aimed at addressing longstanding disputes over Iran’s nuclear program.
Another round of discussions is expected soon, signaling cautious momentum in the ongoing diplomatic process.
