DOHA – Katara

For the second consecutive day, the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara continues its vibrant Eid Al-Adha celebrations through a diverse lineup of cultural, entertainment and family-oriented activities taking place across the cultural village and beachfront areas.

The festive program combines joy, heritage and cultural identity, offering visitors a comprehensive experience ranging from traditional performances and entertainment shows to scientific and exploratory journeys at Al Thuraya Planetarium.

Katara’s Eid celebrations stand out for their variety, catering to visitors of all ages and interests. Traditional folklore performances coexist with scientific experiences and recreational activities, creating a unique atmosphere where culture, entertainment and family warmth come together in one destination.

One of the main attractions during Eid is Al Thuraya Planetarium at Building 41, which welcomes space enthusiasts and science lovers with interactive presentations exploring planets, stars and the mysteries of the universe. On the second day of Eid, Thursday, May 28, visitors enjoyed “The Great Solar System Adventure,” followed by “Zula Patrol,” and the 3D film “Polaris.”

On the third day of Eid, Friday, May 29, the planetarium will present “Stars” at 5:00 pm, followed by “The Great Solar System Adventure” at 6:00 pm, while the 3D film “Astronaut” will be screened at 7:00 pm. The program concludes on Saturday, May 30, with “The Great Solar System Adventure” at 5:00 pm and “The Perfect Little Planet” at 6:00 pm.

Along the Katara Corniche, festive family-friendly activities continue in lively surroundings, featuring performances by the Qatari Folk Band accompanied by traditional songs and rhythms reflecting the authenticity of Qatar’s heritage. Katara’s “Eidiya” initiative also spreads joy among children, adding warmth and happiness to the celebrations.

The evenings become even more vibrant with the daily military parade staged twice at 5:45 pm and 6:45 pm along the Katara Corniche. Visitors also gather every evening at 8:30 pm to enjoy spectacular fireworks displays illuminating the waterfront and transforming the sky into a dazzling canvas of light against the backdrop of sea breezes and festive Eid atmosphere.

At Building 12, visitors can explore booths operated by productive families showcasing a wide range of local products, handicrafts, traditional clothing, perfumes, sweets and heritage gifts. The exhibition highlights creativity, craftsmanship and the spirit of Qatari home-based enterprises while offering visitors a unique shopping experience that blends traditional charm with modern touches.

Through its Eid festivities, Katara continues to provide visitors with an integrated cultural and entertainment experience where beaches, walkways and public squares come alive with families and visitors from various nationalities, reaffirming Katara’s position as a destination that celebrates Eid as a shared cultural and emotional experience rather than merely a seasonal occasion.
