Cairo, February 24 (QNA): HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi participated in a high-level preparatory meeting in Cairo focused on arrangements for the upcoming international conference to support the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, scheduled in Paris.
The meeting coordinated international positions and outlined key outcomes aimed at strengthening Lebanese security institutions and enabling them to effectively maintain national security and stability.
In his remarks, the Minister of State reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast support for Lebanon and its people, emphasizing Doha’s commitment to backing state institutions, particularly the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces. He stressed that such support is vital to preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty and unity, enhancing stability, and creating favorable conditions for economic recovery and sustainable security.
He noted that Lebanon’s stability is a cornerstone of wider regional stability, underscoring the importance Qatar attaches to sustained assistance for the country’s key institutions.
The Minister highlighted Qatar’s consistent support for the Lebanese Army as a central national institution, including payment of personnel salaries over the past four years, fuel assistance for three years, and additional contributions to enhance operational capacity, logistics readiness, and institutional resilience.
He also emphasized the need for coordinated international and regional efforts to assist Lebanon during this critical phase, in line with the Lebanese people’s aspirations for stability, development, and prosperity.
