MIRPUR, July 3: Residents across Mirpur Division have publicly distanced themselves from a banned action committee outfit and reaffirmed their commitment to Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), emphasizing support for peace, stability, and development in the region, official sources said on Friday.
As part of the campaign, members of civil society in Mirpur and Bhimber installed banners and billboards at major roads, public squares, and key locations, displaying messages of disassociation from the proscribed organization and reaffirmation of national loyalty.
Multiple rallies were also held in different towns of the division, where participants expressed strong attachment to Pakistan and AJK. Demonstrators carried national and Kashmiri flags and raised slogans in support of peace, progress, and prosperity.
Speaking on the occasion, local residents said that Azad Jammu and Kashmir is a peaceful region whose people believe in stability, harmony, and development. They stressed that no individual or group should be allowed to disturb public peace or create unrest.
Speakers at the rallies reaffirmed their resolve to oppose any attempts aimed at undermining regional unity and public interest. They said the people of Mirpur Division would continue to stand against forces seeking instability or division.
Civil society representatives further stated that residents maintain unwavering loyalty to Pakistan and AJK and will continue to play their role in promoting peace, law and order, and social cohesion across the region.
