MOSCOW: Moscow reported its largest Ukrainian drone attack in two years after more than 430 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeted the Moscow region overnight, authorities said Tuesday.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said most of the drones were intercepted by air defense systems before reaching the city, with 36 UAVs destroyed during their approach to Moscow.
The attack occurred from evening until 6:00 a.m. local time, according to the mayor, who added that the drones were neutralized at distant approaches.
The latest incident surpassed the previous largest attack recorded on July 4, when more than 200 drones were launched toward the Moscow region.
Authorities reported no immediate casualties or major damage in Moscow following the overnight attack.
