Norway and Ukraine have signed an agreement to jointly produce Ukrainian-designed drones in Norway, marking a significant step in expanding defense cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement was signed in Kyiv by Norway’s ambassador Lars Ragnar Aalerud Hansen and Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Sergiy Boyev, according to a statement from Norway’s Ministry of Defense.
Under the deal, production of drone systems will begin in Norway, with initial deliveries expected before summer. The partnership aims to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities while supporting local manufacturing and technology transfer.
Norwegian Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik described the agreement as an important and practical step toward enhancing bilateral defense ties.
The initiative also includes plans to deepen industrial collaboration, improve supply chains, and promote joint research and development, reflecting a broader commitment to long-term strategic cooperation between Norway and Ukraine.
