Tashkent: (Report by Dr Abdul Rehman Usama)The Embassy of Pakistan organized a special event to commemorate “Kashmir Solidarity Day.” The event was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador Muhammad Mudassar Tipu, senior officials of the embassy, as well as a large number of members from the Pakistani community, students, and local Uzbek individuals.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and a Naat. During the event, speakers highlighted India’s illegal and unilateral actions taken on August 5, 2019, which sought to alter the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir in violation of international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. They paid tribute to the courage and determination of the Kashmiri people in their legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination.

Addressing the gathering, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Muhammad Mudassar Tipu reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the people of illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The Ambassador emphasized that Pakistan will continue its moral, political, and diplomatic support for its Kashmiri people until the resolution of the dispute in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

A documentary film was also screened during the event, highlighting the historical context of the Jammu and Kashmir conflict and the legal and humanitarian implications following India’s unilateral actions on August 5, 2019. At the conclusion of the event, members of the Pakistani community congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador Muhammad Mudassar Tipu and expressed their best wishes for promoting excellent diplomacy and relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in the future.
