One Killed, Over 130 Injured in Russian Complex Fire

VLADIVOSTOK, August 25: One person was killed and more than 130 others injured in a fire at a gas chemical complex under construction in Russia’s Far Eastern Amur region, the facility said Tuesday.
The Ministry of Health said 19 people were hospitalized with moderate or severe injuries.
Preliminary findings indicated that the fire originated in an auxiliary technological section of the complex’s pyrolysis installation.
The fire has been contained, according to the facility.
Authorities are investigating the incident and assessing the circumstances surrounding the blaze at the industrial complex.
The facility is located in the Amur region, where major energy and industrial projects are under development. Officials have not yet provided further details on the cause of the fire or the identities of those affected.
