The 3rd Pakistani Mango Exhibition and its Products opens today (Thursday) at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif, bringing Pakistan’s world-renowned mangoes, seasonal fruits, and traditional food products to visitors across Qatar. The ten-day exhibition, running until July 18, is being held under the patronage and organisation of the Celebrations Committee at the Private Engineering Office (PEO) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the State of Qatar.

Now in its third consecutive year, the exhibition has established itself as one of the Gulf region’s leading seasonal events, showcasing Pakistan’s rich agricultural heritage while strengthening trade and cultural ties between Pakistan and Qatar. Organisers expect this year’s edition to attract record crowds following the outstanding success of the previous two exhibitions.

The second edition welcomed more than 101,200 visitors, while mango sales exceeded 228 tonnes, supported by strong participation from Pakistani companies and specialty restaurants. The impressive results further strengthened the exhibition’s reputation as one of the region’s premier events dedicated to Pakistani mangoes.

This year’s exhibition features its largest participation since its launch, with more than 30 Pakistani companies, including exhibitors arriving directly from Pakistan alongside locally based Pakistani businesses. More than 30 restaurants are also participating, offering a wide range of Pakistani pickles, desserts, traditional dishes, and innovative mango-inspired food products, highlighting the diversity of Pakistan’s mango industry.

The exhibition extends beyond mangoes by presenting a variety of Pakistan’s seasonal fruits, including apricots, peaches, jamun, and chikoo, which together account for approximately 20 percent of the products on display. The expanded showcase offers visitors a broader introduction to Pakistan’s agricultural excellence.

Although Pakistan grows more than 400 mango varieties, the Embassy of Pakistan has carefully selected a premium collection of the country’s finest and most renowned varieties for this year’s exhibition, placing special emphasis on quality and authentic taste.

Visitors will have the opportunity to sample some of Pakistan’s most celebrated mango varieties, including Sindhri, Chaunsa, White Chaunsa, Azeem Chaunsa (Rati Wala), Black Chaunsa (Kala Chaunsa), Anwar Ratol, Dussehri, Fajri, Ratol No. 12, and Lal Badshah, all internationally recognised for their exceptional quality, distinctive flavour, and premium export standards.

Pakistan is the world’s fifth-largest producer of mangoes, with annual production exceeding 1.8 million tonnes. Sixteen mango varieties are commercially exported, including internationally renowned favourites such as Chaunsa, Sindhri, Anwar Ratol, Nawab Puri, and White Chaunsa.

In addition to fresh fruit, the exhibition places greater emphasis on public awareness and education by introducing visitors to the characteristics of Pakistan’s famous mango varieties and their culinary uses. Renowned chefs from Pakistan and restaurants across Qatar will prepare innovative recipes, desserts, beverages, and specialty dishes inspired by mangoes, offering visitors a unique gastronomic experience.

Commenting on the occasion, Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi, General Supervisor of the 3rd Pakistani Mango Exhibition and its Products, said this year’s edition marks the largest participation since the exhibition was launched, both in terms of exhibitors and product diversity.

“In cooperation with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, we have focused on presenting a carefully selected collection of Pakistan’s finest mango varieties, emphasising exceptional quality and giving visitors the opportunity to discover some of the country’s most celebrated agricultural produce,” he said.

A fully air-conditioned exhibition tent measuring approximately 100 metres in length and 30 metres in width has been installed at Souq Waqif’s Eastern Square to ensure a comfortable experience for exhibitors and visitors throughout the event.

According to the official invitation issued by the organisers, the opening ceremony will begin at 4:45 p.m. today (July 9). The exhibition wirki.newsn open daily from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., welcoming diplomats, officials, business representatives, media, and members of the public to celebrate Pakistan’s rich agricultural heritage and internationally acclaimed mangoes.

Al Suwaidi invited residents and visitors across Qatar to attend the exhibition and experience Pakistan’s finest mango varieties while enjoying a family-friendly cultural and culinary event at Souq Waqif.
