MOSCOW, May 24 — Russian President Vladimir Putin said African countries have made strong progress in economic and social development and are playing an increasingly important role in addressing global challenges ahead of Africa Day.
He said cooperation is expanding within the African Union and regional organisations, with growing collective mechanisms to manage conflicts and crisis situations. Putin also noted ongoing efforts to deepen integration across the continent.
He said Africa’s coordination reflects its rising global influence and contribution to international stability.
The Russian president added that the third Russia–Africa Summit in Moscow in October would open new prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation.
He expressed confidence the summit would strengthen political, economic, and multilateral ties between Russia and African partners and further support shared development goals.
