New York, September 12 (QNA) – HE the State of Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani said that today’s UN Security Council session on the Israeli attack against the State of Qatar on Sep. 9 had concluded successfully.
In remarks to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) from New York, Her Excellency said that the statements delivered by all 15 member states supported the State of Qatar’s clear and lawful position.
She added that the success of the session was reflected in the Council’s press statement, which condemned the Israeli strike on the State of Qatar on Sep. 9 and reaffirmed the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
She noted that the member states also emphasized in the statement that the attack targeted a country playing a central role in mediation efforts.
HE the State of Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations further pointed out that the strike on residential compounds used by the Hamas political office had resulted in the martyrdom of several people, including a Qatari citizen, in a blatant violation of international law and Qatar’s sovereignty.
Her Excellency stressed that the Council’s statement commended the State of Qatar’s role in regional mediation and highlighted Doha’s efforts to end the war in Gaza and save Palestinian lives.
