DOHA, Qatar • 29 September 2025 – QatarEnergy has entered a long-term sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with Messer to supply 100 million cubic feet per year of high-purity helium from its Ras Laffan facilities to international markets.
This is the first direct long-term SPA between QatarEnergy and Messer, the world’s largest privately owned industrial gases company, based in Germany.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony at QatarEnergy’s Doha headquarters, hosted by H.E. Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy, in the presence of Mr. Bernd Eulitz, Global CEO of Messer SE & Co. KGaA, along with senior executives from both sides.
H.E. Minister Al-Kaabi said: “Messer is a global leader in helium with a solid reputation and strong assets. We are pleased to sign our first direct deal with Messer and continue supplying the world with premium helium through trusted partners.”
He added: “This agreement highlights QatarEnergy’s dedication to providing reliable resources from one of the leading helium producers to serve rapidly growing global industries.”
Helium is essential for advanced technologies such as MRI scanners, semiconductors, quantum computing, fiber optics, and space exploration.
