Doha, May 25 (QNA) – Qatar News Agency (QNA) Director-General HE Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi said the agency’s 51st anniversary marks an important milestone in the journey of one of Qatar’s most prominent national media institutions, which has remained closely linked to the country’s development and transformation since its establishment in 1975 under Amiri Decree No. 94.
He stated that over the past five decades, QNA has played a central role in documenting and conveying Qatar’s political, economic, cultural, and developmental achievements to audiences both locally and internationally. The agency, he said, has become an integral part of the national media memory and continues to support public awareness through credible, accurate, and professional content.
HE Al Rumaihi emphasized that QNA’s success reflects the continuous support and attention of Qatar’s wise leadership, which has enabled the agency to evolve alongside rapid technological and professional changes in the global media sector.
He noted that today’s media environment presents new challenges, where institutions are required not only to deliver news quickly but also to ensure accuracy, strengthen trust, and uphold high professional standards in an era shaped by digital transformation and diversified media platforms.
He said QNA is entering a new phase focused on modernization and expansion, enhancing its capacity to produce and distribute content across multiple platforms in line with modern media requirements. This includes upgrading technological infrastructure, expanding digital presence, and developing multimedia services.
He further highlighted recent developments, including the launch of news services in Russian, Hindi, and Urdu using artificial intelligence technologies, as part of QNA’s strategy to broaden its global outreach and deliver Qatar’s voice to wider international audiences.
He added that artificial intelligence is being utilized as a supportive tool to improve efficiency and accelerate information delivery, while maintaining strict editorial and professional standards.
HE Al Rumaihi also stressed the importance of continued investment in national talent through training and capacity-building programs, ensuring that QNA remains equipped with skilled professionals capable of meeting future media challenges.
He concluded that as QNA enters its 51st year, it remains committed to strengthening Qatar’s international media presence and continuing its mission based on accuracy, credibility, and professionalism in serving the nation’s message to the world.
