MOSCOW, July 19: Russia has criticized Japan’s cooperation with Ukrainian drone developers, accusing Tokyo of contributing to attacks that have killed Russian civilians and further straining already tense bilateral relations.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said Moscow views Japan’s cooperation with Kyiv on drone technology as an openly hostile act. In an interview with TASS news agency, he alleged that Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles had been used in attacks on civilian targets inside Russia and claimed Japan was assisting those efforts.
Rudenko also said Japan’s growing involvement in the Russia Ukraine conflict was further undermining relations between Moscow and Tokyo. His remarks reflect Russia’s official position amid continuing tensions over the conflict. Japan has not immediately responded to the allegations.
