SINGAPORE, Aug. 21: Singapore has provisionally allocated 200 megawatts (MW) of new data center capacity to four operators as it expands artificial intelligence infrastructure while seeking to keep energy use sustainable.
The Economic Development Board (EDB) and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) said Digital Realty, Equinix, Keppel Data Centres and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres each received 50MW under the second Data Centre Call for Applications.
Launched in December 2025, the initiative attracted more than 20 proposals from local and international companies.
The four operators have committed to exceeding minimum sustainability standards, with more than 50 percent of their data center capacity to be powered by green energy.
The facilities will also use advanced energy-efficiency technologies, including liquid cooling and energy-efficient information technology equipment, and must meet Singapore’s Green Mark Data Centres Platinum Certification.
Authorities said they will review the need for another application exercise within 18 to 24 months to support Singapore’s strategic priorities.
