TIME Names 100 Most Influential AI Figures

Doha, August 27: TIME magazine has unveiled its 2026 TIME100 AI list, recognizing 100 people it says are shaping the development and global direction of artificial intelligence.
The fourth annual list is divided into four categories: Leaders, Innovators, Shapers and Thinkers, bringing together executives, researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, labor advocates and creative figures.
Among the Leaders are OpenAI Chief Research Officer Mark Chen, CEO Sam Altman and President Greg Brockman; SpaceX CEO Elon Musk; Anthropic co-founders Dario and Daniela Amodei; IBM CEO Arvind Krishna; Google DeepMind’s Lila Ibrahim; ByteDance CEO Liang Rubo; Broadcom CEO Hock Tan; Oracle Executive Chairman and CTO Larry Ellison; CoreWeave CEO Michael Intrator; and SMIC’s Liang Mong Song.
The Innovators include OpenEvidence founder Daniel Nadler, Cursor CEO Michael Truell, Moonshot AI CEO Yang Zhilin, Caltech professor Anima Anandkumar, Cerebras Systems CEO Andrew Feldman, actor and filmmaker Ben Affleck, Suno CEO Mikey Shulman and Tarteel CTO Mohamed Moussa.
Shapers include ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, co-founder of the Creators Coalition on AI.
Other Chinese technology leaders named are Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu, Zhipu CEO Zhang Peng and AgiBot CEO Deng Taihua.
TIME Editor-in-Chief Sam Jacobs said AI had become increasingly “explosive and divisive,” reflecting its growing economic and social impact worldwide.
